About Us
The Dowlais Community Development Forum (DCDF) are a group of people interested in developing the Dowlais electoral ward in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales.
The Forum membership is made up of local people together with others from voluntary and statutory organisations that are able to provide services for the people who live and work there.
Funded by the National Assembly for Wales, under the Communities First programme, the Dowlais Forum aims to:
- Develop a ‘can do’ culture
- Encourage education and skills training for work
- Create job opportunities and increase incomes of local people
- Improve the environment and local housing
- Improve health and well-being
- Make communities safer
- Change the way public services are delivered
This transformation of the Dowlais area will be driven forward by local people, who have a leading role to play.
